WELCOME!

I am Sandra Cole, RN, IBCLC, a registered nurse since 1990, specializing in high-risk neonatal nursing, and international board-certified lactation consultant since 2007, specializing in the late preterm infant. I help new parents and healthcare professionals understand and optimize lactation through science and evidence-based research.

I am the author of Breastfeeding Challenges Made Easy for Late Preterm Infants: The Go-To Guide for Nurses and Lactation Consultants (Springer Publishing Co, 2014), available through Springer Publishing and on Amazon. This book is used by colleges and universities for their lactation curriculum and has been added to many neonatal intensive care and postpartum units for reference.

I have presented at several in-person and online conferences including ILCA, USLCA, and I-Lactation, as well as presented webinars for groups such as California Breastfeeding Coalition.

I am proud to have been awarded the 2016 Global Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Awards, Award for Excellence in Neonatal Care- USA.
My newest book, Milk Made Easy: The Science Behind Successful Lactation will be available soon.  While most lactation books teach how to treat common complications of lactation, my book gets to the root cause of those complications and teaches how to avoid them from happening in the first place. Geared mostly to new parents but would be a great addition to any healthcare worker's library. Stay tuned!

There's a common misconception that breastfeeding comes naturally and easily to every mother- but the truth is, it can be incredibly challenging, especially for first-time moms like me. As someone with no prior experience or anatomical understanding of breastfeeding, I truly didn't know where to begin. Working with Sandra Cole was one of the best decisions I made on this journey. From the very beginning, Sandra was patient, kind, and incredibly knowledgeable. She took time to educate me on the mechanics of breastfeeding in a way that was clear, supportive, and empowering.

Whenever I needed help, she was there- always available, always encouraging. Her frequent check-ins made me feel cared for, and her calm, reassuring presence gave me the confidence I needed. I never felt judged or rushed, only supported.

Now, nine months postpartum, I am still successfully nursing my baby boy, and I credit so much of that success to Sandra's guidance and care. She made me feel safe, capable, and comfortable every step of the way. I can't thank her enough.

Great book! Provides concise information for this population. However, "made easy" should be renamed "made easier". We still have to get buy in from doctors and fellow nurses!
